How to decorate all of your home bohemian

How to decorate all of your home bohemian

Because one room just isn't enough

Displaying mismatched crockery gives off a Mediterranean, well-travelled look which is key to boho style. Try playing with your primary colours; vibrant greens, yellows, blues and reds and opt for less uniformed, but more eclectic pieces of kitchenware made from china, glass, wood or clay. The more unusual the better.

To create intensity, a boho kitchen would be nothing without colourful and patterned tiles. The result? Your kitchen is eye-catching, bright and full of life.

The dining room is a place of occasion and this look is perfect for adding a splash of personality whilst still being elegant. Try adding bright statement chairs to your table whether bought or upcycled - a look that works especially well against all types of wood. Have fun with your table settings and pair colourful plates and tumbler glasses (Anthropologie are great for this) with vases and plants. If you have a chandelier, try adding faux flowers for a playfulness which shouts boho.

A big part of the boho look is mixing styles. This living room mixes the modern; a beautiful blue sofa for example, a trendy gold side table, geometric prints, fur rug with mid-century furniture and antique trinkets. Now throw in a variety of large pretty plants and you have yourself a gorgeous bohemian living room which feels inviting and comfortable.

Bathrooms are often the most neglected of rooms but the ones which need the less work. Swap your plain bathroom mirror for a more unusually shaped one and give your bathroom cabinets a brighter lick of paint. Simple as that. If you want to take the look further, weathering the wood can give the space a beautifully rustic feel which, when paired with tiles and a brass sink, looks exquisite.

Swoon. Bohemian bedrooms are all about comfort and we very much approve. Introduce a variety of cozy textures from linens, velvets and fur and always have scatter cushions at hand along with a rug and plants to accessorise. This look is effortless and will guarantee you a better sleep. Win.

An outdoor boho retreat is surprisingly easy to achieve and can help to revitalise those sorry looking garden tables. All you need are colourful cushions (ikat print can look particularly exotic), a bright table cloth, fairy lights or garlands, flowers and multi-coloured plates/cutlery. To make this look pop, try covering your seating in clean white sheets. The perfect place to entertain in summer -remember to waterproof it all, just incase the British weather lives up to its reputation...
